Talent doesn’t always equal success, but it’s a pretty good place to start.

There’s no denying that there is no substitute for hard work. However, the best teams are undoubtedly those that combine a strong work ethic with a lot of talented players.

Eric Edholm with Yahoo! Sports recently compiled a list of the 10 most talented teams in America, based off of players that could enter the 2020 NFL Draft. Without too much surprise, Alabama and Georgia claimed the top two spots on the list while Clemson checked in at No. 4.

The most talented B1G team based off of this criteria was Ohio State at No. 3. Chase Young, Jeff Okudah, J.K. Dobbins, K.J. Hill, and Binjimen Victor were among the draft-eligible players listed in the story. According to Edholm, Young is the one that really stands out:

Young is a top-five pick candidate after a breakout season while eventual No. 2 selection Nick Bosa was hurt, although a few scouts have nitpicked Young’s game to Yahoo Sports. His physical traits are elite, but Young still needs to develop an all-around game.

The other B1G school to land on the list was Iowa at No. 10. In this case, the real strength of Iowa’s 2020 draft-eligible talent comes in the form of the top three players: A.J. Epenesa, Tristan Wirfs, and Alaric Jackson:

We grappled with our 10th team selection here but ended up siding with the Hawkeyes for their potentially top-heavy class that could send three early picks to the league next year.
