2 B1G stars land on 2022 NBA All-Rookie team

Leading up to Wednesday’s Game of the Western Conference Finals, the 2022 NBA All-Rookie first and second teams were revealed. The B1G was represented by a player on each squad.
On the first team, it was Michigan’s Franz Wagner out of the B1G after a strong showing for the Orlando Magic. Wagner appeared in 79 games as a rookie – all starts – while averaging 15.2 points per game. He also shot 47% from the field and averaged 4.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 0.9 steals.
Wagner was joined on the All-Rookie first team by Scottie Barnes, Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green and Evan Mobley.
On the second team, Illinois’ Ayo Dosunmu was represented after a strong first season with the hometown Chicago Bulls. He appeared in 77 games (40 starts) as a rookie while averaging 8.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 52% from the field.
Dosunmu was joined by Chris Duarte, Josh Giddey, Bones Hyland and Herbert Jones on the second team.
