The start of the week has brought a flurry of NFL moves with it as teams begin to make cuts during the preseason.

Teams have until 4 pm EST time on Tuesday to cut their rosters down to 85 players. After that, teams will have a week before cutting rosters to 80 players on Aug. 24.

A couple of casualties of cuts on Monday are two former stars out of the B1G. According to Amie Just with NOLA.com, kicker Brett Maher and running back Stevie Scott were both waived with injury designations on Monday.

Maher was signed one week ago after New Orleans learned of an injury to kicker Wil Lutz. Unfortunately, Maher reportedly sustained a groin injury while warming up for the Baltimore game, leading to Monday’s waiver.

Stevie Scott signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2021 NFL Draft. No other details have been shared in regards to a potential injury for the former Indiana Hoosier.
