Believe it or not, high school football is being played in a lot of states right now. It seems crazy, with colleges at nearly every level shutting down football and other fall sports in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

For B1G fans, it’s going to be incredibly frustrating to see some of the states on the list that are playing football this fall at the high school level.  Of the 11 states the conference includes, four have already started the season. Those states are:

  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Nebraska
  • Ohio

There are a few states in the B1G that are still allowing football this fall, but will start at a later date. Those states include:

  • Pennsylvania
  • New Jersey
  • Wisconsin

So, that means seven of the 11 B1G states are planning to move forward with a fall football season, at least right now. Below is the list of 18 states that played high school football on Friday night, per FootballScoop.com:

  • Alabama
  • Alaska
  • Arkansas
  • Idaho
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Kentucky
  • Mississippi
  • Missouri
  • Montana
  • Nebraska
  • North Dakota
  • Oklahoma
  • Ohio
  • South Carolina (private schools)
  • South Dakota
  • Tennessee
  • Texas (Class 4A and below)
  • Utah
  • Wyoming
