2023 XFL Championship: 9 former B1G players set to compete for Renegades, Defenders

The 2023 XFL championship is set to kick off at 8 p.m. Saturday night between the Arlington Renegades and DC Defenders. It will be aired on ABC and ESPN+.

The XFL featured 8 teams and is pitched as a spring football league for those waiting out the NFL and college football offseason. Many former college and some former NFL players are featured on XFL rosters, including AJ McCarron, Jordan Ta’amu, Martavis Bryant and more.

9 former B1G players are featured in Saturday night’s championship game, 5 from DC and 4 from Arlington. You can find each below:

Arlington Renegades

  • Shaun Beyer, TE – Iowa
  • Brandon Rusnack, DB- Michigan
  • De’Veon Smith, RB – Michigan
  • Shakur Brown, DB – Michigan St.

DC Defenders

  • Jacub Panasiuk, DL – Michigan St.
