Size doesn’t always matter in college football. Sometimes, some of the best athletes aren’t quite as tall as you might expect.
Recently, 247Sports put together a top 10 list of the best current college football players who are measure less than six-feet tall. Three of those players are from the B1G, and all of them were ranked in the top five.
It’s hard to argue against any of the selections.
Ohio State RB J.K. Dobbins (No. 5), Purdue WR Rondale Moore (No. 3) and Wisconsin RB Jonathan Taylor (No. 1) all made 247Sports’ list. All three had excellent years last season.
Dobbins rushed for 1,054 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, helping Ohio State to a 13-1 record and a B1G title. He also caught 26 passes for 263 yards and two scores.
Moore had a sensational freshman season, earning All-America accolades after registering an NCAA-best 114 receptions and a B1G-leading 1,258 yards and 12 touchdown catches.
Taylor was the only player to eclipse the 2,000-yard mark in the FBS last season, totaling 2,194 yards and 16 touchdowns. He was the winner of last year’s Doak Walker Award for his efforts.
All three players are returning to the field for the 2019 season and should be incredibly fun to watch. You can view the full top 10 list here.
