3 B1G hoops coaches crack list of top 10 developmental coaches
One of the best things to see in sports is the development of a player into a star. In college basketball, that is no different. Some coaches develop great players into even greater players. Some develop lower profile players into stars. Nonetheless, player development is a beautiful thing to see, no matter how good or raw a player is.
College basketball analyst Andy Katz dropped his list of some of the best coaches when it comes to player development. He included 3 B1G coaches in the list.

At No. 3, Katz has Michigan State coach Tom Izzo. There is a reason his tenure with the Spartans has lasted so long, he simply gets the most out of his guys. He’s had players such as Draymond Green, Cassius Winston and Miles Bridges become stars. The list goes on.
At No. 6, Katz has Purdue coach Matt Painter. He has coached the likes of Carsen Edwards, Caleb Swanigan and most recently Jaden Ivey.
At No. 9, he has Iowa coach Fran McCaffrey, who has coached up players such as Luka Garza and Keegan Murray. Garza was a two-time B1G Player of the Year, and Murray just went No. 4 in the NBA Draft.
