3 B1G players among 7 finalists for Polynesian College Football Player of the Year honor
The finalists are revealed for the 2021 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year and the B1G is well-represented on the list.
The B1G players on the list includes Maryland’s Taulia Tagovailoa, Ohio State’s Haskell Garrett and Minnesota’s Daniel Faalele.

Tagovailoa has amassed 3,595 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions during his breakthrough junior campaign at Maryland. Tagovailoa’s passing yardage is 11th in the nation and his touchdown total is tied for 21st nationally.
Garrett has totaled 12 solo tackles and 5.5 sacks as a member of the Ohio State defensive line. Garrett tallied three sacks during Ohio State’s victory vs. Akron.
As a member of Minnesota’s offensive line, Faalele aided the rushing attack to register 2,326 yards and 25 touchdowns.
The award will be announced on Dec. 22 and will be given out on Jan. 21 at the 2022 Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Celebration Dinner.
