Three B1G quarterbacks are listed among the 25 best at the position heading into the 2020 season, according to Sporting News.
Bill Bender of Sporting News recently ranked the top 25 quarterbacks entering the 2020 college football season. Three players out of the B1G made the list, with two ranking in the top 10. Those three passers are:
- No. 2: Justin Fields, Ohio State
- No. 9: Tanner Morgan, Minnesota
- No. 23: Sean Clifford, Penn State
Holding the No. 1 spot is Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
Fields is easily the top quarterback in the B1G this year, after throwing for 3,273 yards, rushing for 484 and accounting for 51 total touchdowns in his first season at Ohio State. He led the Buckeyes to a 13-1 record and landed a spot in New York as a Heisman Trophy finalist.
Morgan had a breakout year at Minnesota in 2019, skyrocketing up many lists. The gunslinger in the Twin Cities led the Gophers to an 11-2 record while throwing for 3,253 yards and 30 touchdowns while completing 66 percent of his passes.
Clifford was another first-year starter last season, and also led Penn State to an 11-2 mark last season. He accounted for more than 3,000 yards combined through the air and on the ground and scored 28 touchdowns for the Nittany Lions.
All three B1G quarterbacks should be incredibly fun to watch next season. You can see the complete top 25 at SportingNews.com.
