3 B1G stars land on PFF's Team of the Week for Week 3 action
Pro Football Focus is in love with the B1G. At least for Week 3, anyways.
The website named 3 players from the conference for its Team of the Week following Week 3. Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud, Minnesota running back Mohamed Ibrahim, and Northwestern offensive tackle Peter Skoronski all garnered praise for their efforts against Toledo, Colorado, and Southern Illinois, respectively.
Stroud, who continues to show the nation why he might be this top quarterback prospect, torched the Rockets’ defense en route to a 77-21 win at home. The junior completed 81.5% of his throws for 367 yards and 5 touchdowns while posting a passer rating of 256.8.
Through 3 games, Stroud has completed 72% of his passes for 941 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has yet to throw an interception.
Ibrahim has bounced back strong after missing almost all of the 2021 season with a ruptured Achilles. Against the Buffaloes, Ibrahim rushed for 202 yards off 23 carries and scored 3 touchdowns. He averaged 8.8 yards per run and broke free for 3 runs of over 20 yards.
In 3 games this season, Ibrahim has rushed for 464 yards off 64 carries and has scored 7 touchdowns. He currently ranks 2nd among all FBS running backs in rushing yards and is tied for the most rushing TDs with Michigan’s Blake Corum.
Skoronski helped the Wildcats total 380 yards of offense on their way to a 31-24 loss to the Salukis. Northwestern running back Evan Hull rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown while Cam Porter totaled 40 yards off 11 carries behind Skoronski’s blocking.
The No. 3 Buckeyes take on Wisconsin at home while the Golden Gophers play host to Purdue. Northwestern remains home in Evanston and will take on Northern Illinois.
