The 2020-21 basketball season is almost here, and there are plenty of key players to keep an eye on in the B1G.

As of now, the hoops season is still slated to begin toward the end of November in what should be a great conference race yet again. Ahead of the start of the season, the Basketball Hall of Fame has put out a watchlist for the 2021 Karl Malone Award.

The award debuted in 2015 and is given annually to the top power forward in the country. Three players from the B1G made the preseason watchlist:

  • Trayce Jackson-Davis – Indiana
  • Seth Towns – Ohio State
  • Nate Reuvers – Wisconsin

According to the award’s site, players also have the chance to play themselves on – or off – the watchlist. It will be interesting to see who shines once the season tips off.

So far, no B1G player has captured this award. Dayton’s Obi Toppin took home the award in 2020.
