3 B1G stars named finalists for Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award
The finalists have been revealed for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award and the list is laden with B1G players. Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud and TreVeyon Henderson, as well as Wisconsin’s Braelon Allen, made the cut according to Eleven Warriors reporter Dan Hope.

Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud and running back TreVeyon Henderson are two of the five finalists for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award, along with Wisconsin running back Braelon Allen, Georgia tight end Brock Bowers and Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Stroud amassed 3,862 yards, 38 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions in his first season as the starter at Ohio State. The redshirt freshman finished No. 7 in yards, No. 5 in touchdowns, and No. 2 in QB rating (182.2) nationally.
Henderson has rushed for 1,172 yards, and 15 touchdowns, while averaging 7.0 yards per carry. The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Henderson tallied season highs of yards (277) and touchdowns (3) in a victory vs. Tulsa.

Allen totaled 1,109 yards and 12 touchdowns, with a 7.1 yards per carry average. The 6-foot-2, 238-pound Allen had a streak of 7 consecutive games with at least 100 rushing yards this season.
