Three B1G teams are in the running to land a heavily-recruited defensive end out of the IMG Academy.

On Tuesday, 3-star weak-side defensive end Jihaad Campbell announced that he has trimmed his list of offers down to a Top 8. The 2022 prospect has received 27 total offers so far.

Campbell has included Ohio State, Penn State and Rutgers in his Top 8. The five schools outside the B1G to stay in the mix are Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. He made his announcement on Twitter.

Per 247Sports, Campbell is a 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end who ranks as the No. 20 player at his position and is listed just outside of the Top 50 prospects from Florida. Overall, he cracks the Top 400, ranking No. 388 nationally.

Campbell is originally from Sicklerville, New Jersey and played his first three years of high school football in the state. He transferred to IMG Academy in January 2021.

Some of the notable teams to be left out of Campbell’s Top 8 are Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee and Texas.
