As we get deeper into April, spring practice in the B1G continues to wind down.
So far, we’ve seen five teams hit the field for their annual spring game. It started on the first weekend of the month with defending B1G champion Michigan being the first to go through the spring game in early April.
Purdue and Nebraska followed a week later and Ohio State and Michigan State put a bow on their spring seasons last weekend. The fun continues this week with three more spring games on the docket.
Illinois will get things started this week on Thursday night. The Fighting Illini will be on the field for a 7:30 p.m. ET start on Thursday, April 21. Last season, Illinois finished with a 5-7 record in the first year under Bret Bielema.
Friday, Rutgers takes center stage with a 7 p.m. ET start for the Scarlet-White Game. The Scarlet Knights posted a 5-8 mark in 2021, earning a trip to the Gator Bowl.
Finally, the week of spring games will conclude on Saturday when Penn State returns to Beaver Stadium to close out the practice schedule. The Nittany Lions were 7-6 last year and are looking to bounce back. That game will be at 2 p.m. On Saturday, April 23.
All three B1G spring games this week will air on Big Ten Network.
