One of the best linebackers in the 2022 recruiting class has narrowed down his list of college options to five schools. And it’s loaded with a lot of heavyweight programs.

This week, 4-star inside linebacker Anthony Johnson revealed his top five programs, three of which are from the B1G. The Philadelphia native included Ohio State, Penn State and Rutgers in his top five from the conference. To round out the list, Johnson is still considering Alabama and Texas A&M out of the SEC.

Johnson narrowed down his list and posted on Twitter.

Per 247Sports, Johnson is a 6-foot-1, 230-pound linebacker who ranks as the No. 9 player at his position in the class. He’s the No. 6 prospect out of the state of Pennsylvania and is nationally ranked No. 156, regardless of position.

From 247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn:

Big, thick frame and could outgrow linebacker. Elite talent. Plays comfortable at 230. Long and runs well. Downhill, physical player suited to play inside. A devastating hitter who can control box. Moves well laterally. Run gap filler.

Johnson has received nearly 20 offers already on the recruiting trail.
