4-star OL, top prospect from Nebraska excludes B1G from Top 5
One of the nation’s top offensive line prospects in the 2022 recruiting class and the top overall player out of Nebraska will not be playing college football in the B1G. Not unless something drastically changes, at least.
This week, 4-star offensive guard Deshawn Woods released his Top 5 and didn’t include any B1G programs. The Omaha native is ranked as the No. 1 player from Nebraska and the No. 3 guard in the 2022 class. Overall, the 6-foot-4, 270-pound Woods ranks as the No. 101 player of the cycle, per 247Sports.
Woods held B1G offers from Nebraska, Iowa and Michigan State, none of which made the Top 5. Instead, the offensive lineman is considering Missouri, Texas A&M, Arizona State, Miami (FL) and Florida.

Other programs to offer Woods included Iowa State, Kansas State and Buffalo at the FBS level. South Dakota State was the lone FCS team to extend the offer.
There’s still a lot of time between now and the Early Signing Period, so Woods could have a change of heart. For now, though, it appears as though one of the nation’s top offensive line prospects will not be playing in the B1G.
