4-star OT, Top 200 prospect includes 3 B1G teams in Final 8
A 4-star offensive tackle and one of the top players out of the state of Michigan is keeping three B1G squads in the mix for his commitment.
Over the weekend, Rayshaun Benny, a native of Oak Park, Michigan, revealed his top eight programs. He’s still considering both in-state programs — Michigan and Michigan State — as well as Penn State at this time. The other five schools still in the running are Arkansas, Arizona State, Kentucky, LSU and Tennessee.
Benny made his announcement with a post on Twitter. He’s considered to be one of the top 200 overall prospects in the 2021 recruiting class.

According to 247Sports, Benny ranks as the No. 189 overall prospect in the 2021 class, regardless of position. He’s listed as the No. 19 offensive tackle and the No. 6 player out of the state of Michigan.
During his junior season at the high school level, Benny played on both sides of the football. In addition to offensive tackle, he lined up at defensive end.
From 247Sports’ recruiting analyst Allen Trieu:
Build wise, he looks like an inside-outside swing guy on the hoof. Has played both sides of the ball in high school and plays with tenacity and has good functional strength already. Runs his feet on contact and plays with good balance.
All three B1G schools still in the mix could use an addition like Benny to the offensive line.
