An extremely talented 4-star safety out of Aledo, Texas has reopened his recruitment after committing to LSU nearly a year ago.

Bryan “BJ” Allen Jr. announced on Twitter Thursday that he is decommitting from LSU and will reconsider his options. He’s received nearly two dozen offers on the recruiting trail, and a handful of B1G programs have shown interest in the highly-touted defensive back out of Texas.

“In life we sometimes have to make hard decisions, this is one for me,” Allen wrote on Twitter. “I would like to thank the coaching staff at LSU for all the love they’ve shown my family and I. With that being said I will be decommitting from LSU and opening up my recruitment.”

Allen is a 6-foot, 180-pound safety who ranks as the No. 5 player at his position and is the No. 13 prospect out of the Lone Star State. Overall, the DB ranks No. 71 nationally. Allen is a member of the 2022 recruiting class.

Three B1G programs have offered Allen: Nebraska, Ohio State and Penn State. He’s also received interest from other blueblood programs, including Texas, Texas A&M, USC, Oklahoma, Florida, Florida State, Auburn and Oklahoma State.
