4-star WR David Bell to take in major B1G clash between Penn State and Ohio State
Four-star wide receiver David Bell is one of the top 2019 recruits in the nation, and it certainly appears that he’s going to end up playing Big Ten football.
In fact, he has four schools that he’s strongly considering, and each of them are from the Big Ten. According to Kyle Neddenriep of the Indianapolis Star, Bell’s recruitment will come down to Indiana, Purdue, Iowa, Penn State, and Ohio State.

Each of those schools would love to have a talented receiver like Bell, and they now know when they’ll find out if they end up landing him. The Warren Central (Indianapolis) product has said that he’ll make his decision at the All-American bowl on January 5th. That’s a big-time spot to make a commitment and he’ll certainly end up being a big-time commitment.
Now it just comes down to this final stretch for Indiana, Iowa, Purdue, Penn State and Ohio State to win the recruit over. Ohio State and Penn State, of course, boast a winning tradition and can pitch him on competing for national titles, but Iowa has a good in with him with the pipeline the Hawkeyes have built with his high school, but Indiana and Purdue are, of course, home-state schools.
With a big game coming up between Ohio State and Penn State this weekend, Bell is planning on being in Happy Valley for an official visit to Penn State. This will be his fourth visit to PSU, but his first for a game. He seems excited, per the Indianapolis Star report.
“I haven’t been to a game yet there, so I want to see what the game environment is like,” he said. “It is a ‘white out’ game so I think it will be really impressive. I hope it is.”
According to the 247Sports Composite, Bell is the No. 115 recruit nationally, the No. 22 wideout in his class and the No. 2 overall player from his state.
He’s without a doubt a big-time recruit.
