With Urban Meyer’s future uncertain at Ohio State, 5-star WR Julian Fleming (Catawissa, Pa.) is letting everyone know his recruitment is wide open.

Shortly after OSU made the announcement that Meyer has been placed on administrative leave, Fleming tweeted, “Recruitment is now 100% OPEN.”

Rivals.com recruiting expert Adam Friedman chimed in, “The timing of this announcement… certainly seems related to everything going on at [Ohio State].”

While Fleming was not committed to Ohio State, the Buckeyes were in his top six, along with Penn State, USC, Clemson, Georgia and Virginia Tech.

“Just a lot of issues at Ohio State, and they were very high on my list,” Fleming told PennLive. “So, I figured I’m still very early in the process, and I should be open to any options still and not focus too much on any schools.”

Fleming also told PennLive it’s “hard to imagine” OSU without Meyer.

If the Buckeyes are out of the mix, that could clear the way for the Nittany Lions. Ten recruiting experts have submitted Crystal Balls on 247Sports that the 6-2, 190-pound Fleming will pledge to Penn State. The site’s Composite rankings rate Fleming as the No. 1 wide receiver, No. 1 Pennsylvania product and No. 9 overall recruit in the 2020 class.
