A pair of B1G basketball programs are still in the mix for one of the best players in the 2022 recruiting class.

Illinois and Maryland made the cut for 5-star point guard and former Kentucky commit Skyy Clark. The Florida native narrowed his list down to 6 schools, per On3 Sports. The other 4 still in contention for the blue-chip talent include Louisville, Tennessee, USC and Washington.

Clark is listed as a 6-foot-3, 200-pound point guard out of Montverde Academy. He holds two dozen offers but trimmed the list down to just a handful of schools.

Per 247Sports’ Eric Bossi:

At this point his development, it is probably fair to classify Clark as more of a scoring point guard than traditional playmaker. When he’s at his best he is attacking downhill, making use of his dangerous jump shot and deep range and playing in an aggressive manner on the offensive end. He is certainly a capable playmaker for others but when that becomes the sole focus of his game, he can be a bit too passive in looking for his own offense. The rocks of his game are his tight ball handling and creativity offensively.

Below are some of Clark’s highlights:

Illinois’ 2022 recruiting class already has 3 players and ranks 16th nationally and No. 4 in the B1G. Maryland does not have any commitments for the cycle.
