James Monds III is down to 13 programs, the cornerback seeing his national recruitment take another step forward with the release of a cutdown on Sunday.

The three-star cornerback out of Fort Pierce, FL has offers from some of the best schools in the nation. Monds’ list of 13 programs includes Clemson along with Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, and Wisconsin among others.

Interestingly enough, Howard is on the list. The MEAC program isn’t usually a place for high-level recruits. But perhaps the addition of Howard by Monds is perhaps a nod of the head to Makur Maker.

The five-star center made headlines last year when he committed to Howard’s basketball team. In doing so, he encouraged other basketball players to look at MEAC programs and begin to consider them as part of the recruiting process.

Monds has also included Cincinnati, Kansas, Kansas State, Miami, and Mississippi State in his top 13 programs.
