6 from Big Ten on Pro Football Focus' defensive Team of the Week for Week 1
To say that Week 1 went perfectly for the Big Ten would be an overstatement.
Some teams lost, others didn’t play well, and, heck, Nebraska didn’t even get to play its game. But for the most part, teams won football games, and that’s what matters most.
For some of those teams, spectacular defensive performances were a key part as to why those programs ended up with wins. Pro Football Focus announced its defensive Team of the Week for Week 1 on Monday and you will find Big Ten names up and down the list.
Of the 11 players named, 6 come from the Big Ten.

Ohio State’s Nick Bosa and Dre’Mont Jones received honors, as did Michigan’s Chase Winovich, Illinois’ Jake Hansen, Maryland’s Tino Ellis and Iowa’s Amani Hooker.
What will Week 2 bring?
Probably a lot of outstanding B1G performances. That’s what.
