Games many thought would be close were lopsided, teams folks expected to win easily had to grind for their results. Week 12 offered plenty of entertainment around the Big Ten, but it also offered star performances as well.

In Pro Football Focus’ team of the week, the Big Ten was understandably well-represented. Seven players, including 5 on offense, earned spots on the PFF Team of the Week.

Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud led the pack on the heels of an electrifying performance in the Buckeyes’ 56-7 win over Michigan State. The redshirt freshman completed 32 of his 35 pass attempts for 432 yards and 6 touchdowns, all of which came in the first half.

Purdue wideout Milton Wright was on the team after an 8-catch, 213-yard, 3-touchdown performance in the Boilermakers’ 32-14 win over Northwestern. Nebraska tight end Austin Allen was also rewarded for a big day in NU’s 35-28 loss to Wisconsin—he had 7 catches for 143 yards.

Michigan running back Donovan Edwards had a quiet day on the ground—3 carries for 8 yards—but hauled in 10 catches for 170 yards and a touchdown in UM’s 59-18 win over Maryland.

Noticeably absent from the team was Wisconsin running back Braelon Allen, whose line Saturday featured 228 yards and 3 touchdowns on 22 carries. But PFF found another way to shout out the Badger tailback. His 53-yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter—what proved to be the game-winning score with 3:50 remaining—was tabbed as the game-changing play of the week. Per PFF, that one run increased Wisconsin’s win probability by 15%.
