The ACC is trduging forward with a 10-game conference schedule, plus one nonconference game for 2020. For Notre Dame, that one nonconference game will not be against longstanding rival Navy. Instead, the Irish will take on Western Michigan.
Notre Dame and Navy have met on the gridiron for 93 consecutive seasons, playing every fall since 1927. That streak will come to an end this year.
With Notre Dame being forced to join a league this year in order to have a season, the Irish also lost a traditional rivalry game with USC for the 2020 season. It’s typically one of the high-profile games on the college football schedule.
