The Independence Day weekend was a big one on the recruiting trail. There were plenty of fireworks to keep everyone entertained across the country from Saturday until Monday.
Sorry for the terrible pun.
Many football recruits in the 2022 class made their commitment decision over the weekend, which resulted in plenty of movement in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Several B1G teams saw a significant bump in their national placement after a wild weekend.
Ohio State still leads the pack and is sitting with the top-ranked recruiting class nationally. Penn State and Michigan both cracked the Top 10 and 12 of the 14 programs in the B1G are listed inside the Top 50 right now. The two outsiders are B1G West rivals Nebraska and Iowa.
There’s still a lot of time for things to change. Plenty of recruits have yet to make a final decision and some will flip schools in the coming months. Coaches have plenty of opportunities to improve their class before the Early Signing Period in December.
