Sarah Fuller made history this season at Vanderbilt, in the SEC and for college football, becoming the first woman to ever play in and score points in a Power 5 football game. Now, a major honor is coming her way.
Fuller, who was also a women’s soccer player at Vandy, has received an invitation to the presidential inauguration for Joe Biden. She posted a message on social media confirming her invitation.
“It’s an honor to be invited to participate in one of America’s greatest traditions,” Fuller wrote. “This historic inauguration is especially meaningful for American women and girls. The glass ceilings are breaking and it is time to #LeadLikeAWoman.”
On Nov. 28, Fuller became the first woman to participate in a Power 5 football game, making her debut with a kickoff against Missouri. On Dec. 12, she was the first woman to score in a Power 5 game, making an extra point in Vanderbilt’s game against Tennessee.
The presidential inauguration will be held on Wednesday.
