Alabama is a heavy favorite against any team in the country
How good is Alabama this year?
Sure, the Crimson Tide are the No. 1 team in the country. That happens at some point during every year. It’s not a surprise anymore.
But according to Vegas, how much better is Nick Saban’s group than every other team out there? Vegas released some hypothetical odds Wednesday pitting Alabama against the other top-ranked teams in the country.
Here’s a few:
Alabama vs the World.
College football championship game odds now posted @GoldenNuggetLV Alabama -9.5 vs Ohio St
Alabama -10.5 vs Georgia
Alabama -11.5 vs Clemson
Alabama-14.5 vs Oklahoma

For one, this is crazy to look at. The Crimson Tide, even against Ohio State right now would be 9.5-point favorites. Georgia is 10.5, Clemson is 11.5 and Oklahoma is over two touchdowns. That is a lot.
The second takeaway is this — Ohio State is the second best team according to Vegas. No other team comes closer to Alabama.
Not that the Buckeyes would be happy being 9.5-point underdogs. If Ohio State gets the opportunity to play Alabama, it will be in the College Football Playoff.
And if the Buckeyes are close to being double-digit underdogs, they’ll be licking their chops.
