Now that the 2018 regular season is a thing of the past, college football is gearing up for award season!

On deck for Tuesday is the B1G defensive awards. The individual awards were announced earlier with Michigan State DL Kenny Willekes, Michigan LB Devin Bush, and Iowa DB Amani Hooker receiving honors. Bush was also named the overall Defensive Player of the Year for the B1G.

Following the individual award announcement, the B1G revealed the first-, second-, and third-team defense selections around the conference. Along the defensive line, Chase Winovich, A.J. Epenesa, and Yetur Gross-Matos joined Willekes on the first team.

The first-team secondary was made up of Hooker, Lavert Hill, Montre Hartage, and Amani Oruwariye. The linebacker unit was made up of Bush, T.J. Edwards, and Tre Watson.

Among the B1G division champs, Hartage of Northwestern was the only first-team selection. Ohio State did not have a single first-team defensive player, but DL Dre’Mont Jones and DB Jordan Fuller were second-team selections.
