Everything intensifies in March. Apparently that includes reactions to officials making calls, too. One Sun Belt official found out the hard way earlier this week.

On Tuesday, in a Sun Belt matchup between Arkansas-Little Rock and Georgia State, Little Rock guard Markquis Nowell took things a little too far after a play. When the ball went out of bounds and the official made his signal, Nowell took two slaps at the official’s backside.

Unsurprisingly, the result was Nowell receiving a technical foul. Bobby Reagan of Barstool Sports shared the video.

So, there’s your lesson, basketball players. Don’t go excessive with the officials during March Madness, or you’ll give your opponent to free throws.

Nowell scored 10 points and grabbed two rebounds, and Little Rock was defeated 89-70. It was just a bad night all around.
