There’s one less bowl game to watch now.

Sources told Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports that the Holiday Bowl between UCLA and N.C. State is going to be canceled due to Covid issues on the Bruins’ side. Apparently the Bruins’ D-line has been hit pretty hard by the virus.

UCLA Football’s account on Twitter confirmed the news on Tuesday afternoon just hours before the game was going to be played. The game was supposed to be broadcast on Fox at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

This game was going to be the first football game played at the home of the San Diego Padres at PetCo Park. The ballpark has also hosted soccer, rugby, and college basketball before.

Fans would have been treated to a great QB showdown as well with Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Devin Leary facing off. Both QBs have thrown for over 2400 yards passing this season. Former Michigan RB Zach Charbonnet has also been fun to watch this year as well in Chip Kelly’s system.

With this game being canceled, fans of the B1G can still watch 6-6 West Virginia and 8-4 Minnesota in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl on ESPN at 10:15 p.m. ET.
