It’s never too early to make championship predictions in August. Who will represent the B1G West and East in Indianapolis? Who will be crowned champion? Check out these predictions from the Associated Press.

To no surprise, Ohio State is picked to win the east by the AP’s Ralph Russo.

The Buckeyes have won five B1G Championships since its inception in 2011, including 4-straight from 2017-2020. Their arch-rival, Michigan, took the crown in 2021. Ohio State returns a prolific offense under head coach Ryan Day.

Things get a bit more interesting in the west.

The current favorite here is Minnesota under head coach P.J. Fleck. The Gophers went 9-4 and won the Guaranteed Rate Bowl over West Virginia last season.

In reality, the division could have two or three other teams represented at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Iowa and Wisconsin could be other picks here. The Hawkeyes return a great defense led by Riley Moss and the Badgers run Braelon Allen in the backfield. Both teams will face off in Iowa City on Nov. 12.

Will any of that matter against Ohio State? The Buckeyes are not only looking for a B1G Championship but a spot in the College Football Playoff.
