AP Top 25: B1G leads all conferences with 4 top-10 teams
The AP Top 25 has been revealed following Week 14 action in college football.
It was another unpredictable week, as top-10 teams Ohio State and Miami both suffered stunning losses. Those results — plus a few more — had a big impact on this week’s poll.
The top of the AP Poll is still dominated by the Big Ten despite Ohio State’s stunning loss. Oregon holds the No. 1 spot while Penn State moved up to No. 3 this week thanks to its blowout win over Maryland. The Buckeyes remained in the top-10, sliding to No. 7.
Elsewhere in the Big Ten, Indiana landed at No. 9 this week after dismantling rival Purdue. Illinois is the last Big Ten team to make the top-25 this week, coming in at No. 21 after finishing off a 9-3 regular season over the weekend.
Texas’s win over Texas A&M in College Station was enough to move the Longhorns up to No. 2 this week. They are once again the highest-ranked SEC team in the AP Poll. Georgia lands at No. 5 following its escape vs. Georgia Tech on Friday night.
Tennessee also claimed a spot in the top 10 following its big win over Vanderbilt. The Vols slotted in at No. 6 this week. Elsewhere in the SEC, Alabama and South Carolina clocked in at No. 11 and No. 13, respectively. The Gamecocks and Crimson Tide are both still in the mix for a CFP spot despite having 3 losses so far this season.
Ole Miss (No. 15) and Missouri (No. 22) are the other SEC teams who cracked the top 25 this week.
