The 2022 Army-Navy Game came down to the wire — and then some. Army tied the game at 10-all with just a few minutes left to go in the fourth quarter, setting up the first-ever instance of overtime in the annual rivalry series.

Once in overtime, the two sides did not waste any time exchanging explosive plays. Army scored on a 25-yard run to put pressure on Navy to answer back. The Midshipmen responded, running a play-action pass that also went for 25 yards and a score.

In the second overtime period, things finally took a turn. Navy appeared driving to score another touchdown but finally fumbled inside the 5-yard line.

Army recovered the fumble and needed just a field goal to win the game. The Black Knights went for that try on 4th-and-7, nailing the field goal and sending Army to the win in the first-ever overtime showdown.
