The Associated Press has a bit of credibility.

That’s understood. Realistically, up until the first version of the College Football Playoff rankings come out, we take the AP’s top 25 and consider it the bible of where teams are ranked.

The preseason poll came out on Monday and the Big Ten dominated in the sense of volume. The conference had seven teams make the top 25 — more than any other conference. The last time the conference had seven teams in the poll — in the preseason — was back in the year 2000.

The AP also releases other lists throughout the year and on Tuesday, it released its Preseason All-America First and Second Teams. There were seven players selected from the B1G on the First Team and three more were selected for the Second Team:

First Team

RB: Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin

OG: Ben Bredeson, Michigan

Center: Tyler Biadasz, Wisconsin

All-Purpose player: Rondale Moore, Purdue

DE: Chase Young, Ohio State; A.J. Epenesa, Iowa

LB: Joe Bachie, Michigan State

Second Team

DE: Kenneth Willekes, Michigan State

LB: Paddy Fisher, Northwestern

Safety: Jordan Fuller, Ohio State
