One of the top running backs of the 2019 recruiting class will be playing in the SEC.

Thursday afternoon, 4-star all-purpose back Wandale Robinson announced his commitment to Kentucky, choosing the Wildcats over three B1G programs. He had Nebraska, Ohio State and Purdue in his top five.

Alabama was the fifth school in his final cut.

Nebraska was assumed to be the favorite just a few days ago but Kentucky made a late surge and landed the nation’s fourth-best all-purpose back in the 2019 class.

Robinson is a native of Frankfort, Kentucky, ultimately deciding to stay in his home state. It doesn’t hurt that the Wildcats sit at 7-1 on the season, are ranked No. 9 in the first College Football Playoff rankings and are right in the thick of the SEC East hunt.

Kentucky has 20 commits in its 2019 recruiting class, ranking 12th in the SEC and 34th nationally. Ohio State (15th), Nebraska (22nd) and Purdue (26th) all have higher ranked recruiting classes than the Wildcats.
