The college football season is officially underway. And it didn’t take long before the first touchdown of 2020 was scored.

Austin Peay and Central Arkansas opened the season on Saturday night, as two FCS squads were the first college football teams to take the field this season. And on the first play from scrimmage, CJ Evans took a pitch 75 yards for a touchdown, giving the Governors an early 7-0 lead.

Just 16 seconds into the game, Austin Peay put points on the board.

What an incredible start to the college football season.

Austin Peay finished the 2019 season with an 11-4 record while Central Arkansas ended the season with a 9-4 mark. Both teams reached the postseason a year ago.

Welcome back, college football. We certainly missed you.
