Yes, Penn State was the team that won the B1G at the end of the year. All season long, though, everyone believed it was Michigan and Ohio State that had the most talent on the roster.

That belief was backed up on Wednesday, when Sporting News released its first and second-team All-American list for the 2016 season. The Buckeyes and Wolverines were well represented.

Six players earned first-team accolades, three on offense and three on defense:

Offense

  • Pat Elflein – C – Ohio State
  • Ryan Ramczyk – OT – Wisconsin
  • Curtis Samuel – ATH – Ohio State

Defense

  • Jabrill Peppers – LB – Michigan
  • Jourdan Lewis – CB – Michigan
  • Malik Hooker – S – Ohio State

Five additional players were awarded with second-team honors:

Offense

  • Saquon Barkley – RB – Penn State
  • Jake Butt – TE – Michigan
  • Billy Price – OG – Ohio State

Defense

  • Chris Wormley – DL – Michigan
  • Raekwon McMillan – LB – Ohio State

In all, five from Ohio State and four from Michigan were mentioned. Barkley and Ramczyk were the only two representing other B1G teams.
