B1G announces Players of the Week following Week 3 action

The B1G has announced the Players of the Week following the third weekend of the 2021 season.

On Monday morning, the B1G announced which players were awarded with each of the weekly honors. Michigan State once again found offensive honors, with quarterback Payton Thorne sharing the honor with Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson.

On defense, Penn State linebacker Brandon Smith took the nod, while the special teams honors went to Rutgers returner Aron Cruickshank and Maryland kicker Joseph Petrino.

Henderson also took the honors for Freshman of the Week.

Co-Offensive Player of the Week

TreVeyon Henderson, RB – Ohio State
Payton Thorne, QB – Michigan State

Defensive Player of the Week

Brandon Smith, LB – Penn State

Co-Special Teams Player of the Week

Aron Cruickshank, R – Rutgers
Joseph Petrino, K – Maryland
