B1G announces Players of the Week following Week 5 action
In a week in which every program except Illinois was in action, there were plenty of candidates for the B1G’s weekly awards.
After sifting through all the data, the conference announced their Week 5 Players of the Week on Monday.
Here’s a look at the winners:

Selected as Co-Offensive Players of the Week, Morgan completed all but one pass (21-22) for 396 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-31 win over Purdue. His 396 passing yards were tied for seventh-most in a single game in school history.
Throwing three touchdown tosses and adding another on the ground, Clifford totaled 452 yards of total offense in No. 12 Penn State’s 59-0 rout of Maryland.

One week after being held to one tackle vs. Michigan, Badgers linebacker Chris Orr registered nine tackles (two tackles for loss) in No. 8 Wisconsin’s 24-15 victory over Northwestern. He also added his first two sacks of the season and forced a crucial fumble in the fourth quarter.

A reigning three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, punter Jacob Herbers played a pivotal role in the Gophers topping Purdue in West Lafayette. Punting four times in the game, Herbers dropped two of them inside the Boilermakers’ five-yard line.

Returning to action after missing the previous two games, redshirt freshman quarterback Michael Penix Jr. showed the added element he provides the Hoosiers’ offense.
Throwing for 286 yards and three touchdowns, Penix completed 20-straight passes at one point, finishing the day 33-42.
