The B1G has announced its standout contributors from the full Week 7 slate of games. In total, 5 players have been recognized as Players of the Week with Purdue leading the way with a pair of selections.

Co-Offensive Players of the Week

  • RB Chase Brown, Illinois
  • QB Aidan O’Connell, Purdue

Brown continues to lead the country in rushing yards after running for 180 yards against Minnesota. He finished with 233 all-purpose yards against the Gophers and is the first Illini back to open the season with 8 consecutive games of 100+ rushing yards.

For O’Connell, he threw for 391 yards and 4 touchdowns for the 12th 300-yard game of his career. O’Connell engineered a win in the high-flying affair against Nebraska.

Defensive Player of the Week

  • Edge/LB Jacoby Windmon, Michigan State

Windmon put up a season-best 11 tackles with a pair of TFLs against Wisconsin in Week 7. He also produced a pair of takeaways for the Spartans, recording an interception and forcing a Braelon Allen fumble in overtime.

Special Teams Player of the Week

  • K Jake Moody, Michigan

Moody helped the Wolverines get off to a hot start against Penn State, nailing 4 field goals and 3 PATs for 15 of Michigan’s 41 points in the win. He also produced a hard-hitting tackle on kickoff coverage.

Freshman of the Week

  • RB Devin Mockobee, Purdue

Mockobee was a key piece for the Boilermakers in Week 7, rushing for a career-best 178 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries. He finished with over 200 all-purpose yards with his work in the passing game.
