The B1G has announced the winners of the Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors.

Monday, the league announced that Illinois’ Ayo Dosunmu has earned B1G Player of the Week honors and Indiana’s Trayce Jackson-Davis has received Freshman of the Week accolades.

Illinois played just one game last week, but Dosunmu was fabulous in the Fighting Illini’s 62-56 upset win over Penn State on the road. The sophomore played 37 minutes, scoring 24 points, grabbing four rebounds and dishing one assist in the victory. He was the game’s leading scorer.

Dosunmu’s performance against the Nittany Lions marked the sixth time this season he’s scored 20 points or more in a game.

Jackson-Davis has become a regular at winning the Freshman of the Week award this season. He’s now claimed the honor five times this year.

This past week was perhaps the best of Jackson-Davis’ young career, finishing with double-doubles in Indiana’s wins over Minnesota and Penn State.

In the win over Minnesota, Jacks0n-Davis was nearly untouchable, scoring 27 points on 11-of-15 shooting and grabbing 16 rebounds in the victory. Over the weekend against Penn State, the Hoosiers freshman struggled from the floor, but still managed to get 13 points and 10 rebounds in a must-win game.
