Another week of B1G football is in the books and one more team from the conference has punched its postseason ticket.

No. 17 Penn State posted a 30-24 win over No. 18 Iowa to improve to 6-2 on the season, becoming the fourth B1G team to earn bowl eligibility in 2018. The Nittany Lions join No. 11 Ohio State (7-1), No. 5 Michigan (7-1) and the Hawkeyes.

Four more teams are on the verge of clinching a bowl berth and can hit the all-important six-win mark in Week 10. Those four teams are:

  • Maryland (5-3)
  • Michigan State (5-3)
  • Northwestern (5-3)
  • No. 20 Wisconsin (5-3)

There are three additional teams who sit at four wins on the year, needing two more victories to earn a bowl bid. Those teams are:

  • Indiana (4-5)
  • Minnesota (4-4)
  • Purdue (4-4)

As of Week 9, only one team has been eliminated from the bowl picture. Rutgers, at 1-7, won’t be able to hit the six-win mark this season. At 2-6 on the year, Nebraska would also be knocked out of the picture with another loss.

The bowl picture is already starting to shape up. It will only get clearer over the next few weeks.
