Ohio State’s loss on Saturday against Oregon is problematic for the Buckeyes in the big picture, especially in regards to the College Football Playoff.

That’s also true of the Big Ten as a whole.

After just two weeks, the top teams in the B1G already find themselves needing help to reach the top 4 teams that make the CFP semifinals.

Now, to be clear, OSU certainly could recover and make the Playoff. Penn State and Iowa are unbeaten and have the same claim to CFP contention — in fact, the Hawkeyes are No. 5 in the new Associated Press poll, the highest-rated B1G team. A few other B1G teams have started 2-0 as well.

But we still think the Buckeyes will win the league and the Nittany Lions are the league’s second-best team. Iowa has barged its way into the conversation but these projections are based on where we think teams will be at the end of the season, not where they are now.

And at this point, thanks to OSU’s loss, we are projecting that the league will miss the CFP. Again, it’s really early and there are a ton of meaningful games ahead.

So here are the latest B1G bowl projections:

Rose Bowl: Ohio State vs. Oregon

Fiesta Bowl: Penn State vs. Notre Dame

Citrus Bowl: Iowa vs. Auburn

Outback Bowl: Wisconsin vs. LSU

Las Vegas Bowl: Michigan vs. USC

Music City Bowl: Indiana vs. Missouri

Pinstripe Bowl: Minnesota vs. Wake Forest

Guaranteed Rate Bowl: Maryland vs. TCU

Redbox Bowl: Michigan State vs. Washington

Quick Lane Bowl: Northwestern vs. Western Michigan
