It’s nice to be able to watch a real slate of Saturday games, huh?

At the top of the conference, there just was not that much to learn. Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State all took care of their inferior opponents with ease. Drew Allar looked great in the Nittany Lions’ season opener against West Virginia, affirming their spot among the top teams in the B1G even more.

Wisconsin will be fine. The Badgers struggled early against Buffalo, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to early-season jitters. Iowa is in the same boat after finally putting together some semblance of offense in the first half.

Most of the changes to this week’s bowl projections compared to last week come at the bottom of the list, though LSU’s rough loss to Florida State did move some things around in the middle.

Illinois barely escaped against Toledo and looked bad defensively while doing it. Considering that’s supposed to be the Illini’s strength, that’s a cause for concern. They drop a few because of it, with Maryland and Minnesota moving up.

I wanted to leave Nebraska off this list entirely, to be honest. The Huskers looked okay on Thursday and lost only because – in true Nebraska fashion – they gave the ball away at every single crucial junction of the game. Nebraska should have scored at least 14 more points than they did against the Gophers.

Michigan State did not look great either despite a 24-point win. But still, they’re on track for a spot in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.
