B1G Bowl Projections, Week 6: Welcome back, Wildcats
Welcome back to the bowl lineup, Northwestern.
All it took was one big win on the road against ranked Michigan State and the Wildcats have bounced back into our roster of projected Big Ten bowl teams.
Ohio State, Wisconsin and Iowa rolled to expected victories on Saturday so nothing has changed there, though Ohio State’s seeding and game site have changed for the College Football Playoff. If all goes as expected, the Buckeyes are likely to be the No 2 seed in the semifinals.
Iowa also rises a bit in the pecking order, leaping the Spartans. We still have only nine B1G teams are projected to make the postseason, though Purdue is worth watching. We’re not ready to put Illinois there after one conference win over bottom-dwelling Rutgers but, for what it’s worth, the Fighting Illini are halfway to bowl eligibility.
