The matchup is set.

Next Saturday, Michigan and Iowa will meet in Indianapolis with a B1G title hanging in the balance. It will be the first trip to Lucas Oil Stadium for the Wolverines and the second for the Hawkeyes. The last appearance for Kirk Ferentz’s team was in 2015.

Michigan solidified its spot in the B1G Championship Game on Saturday afternoon after posting a convincing 42-27 victory over Ohio State in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines enter the title contest with an 11-1 record.

Iowa defeated Nebraska 28-21 on Friday to stay alive in the B1G West race. On Saturday, Minnesota upset Wisconsin 23-13 in Minneapolis to end the Badgers’ hopes of a division crown. That gives the Hawkeyes lone possession of the title and punches their ticket to Indianapolis.

It’s a matchup nobody expected to see, considering how well both Ohio State and Wisconsin were playing entering the final week of the season. But it’s just further proof that the 2021 season has been incredibly unpredictable.

The battle for a B1G title will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4 with kickoff set for 8 p.m. ET. The game will air on FOX.
