B1G commissioner Kevin Warren weighs in on potential for College Football Playoff expansion
The College Football Playoff expansion talks have been a hot topic the last few days as the management tries to decide what’s the best course of action.
There has been a lot of talk around an 8-team format and a 12-team format but so far, everyone has yet to come to an agreement.
B1G Commissioner Kevin Warren gave his thoughts on the potential for expansion and he seems to like automatic bids for some teams.
“I’m a big believer that there should be automatic qualifiers for Power 5 conferences,” Warren said.

This has been highly debated throughout the last couple of days.
For example, SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey remains against 8 teams that would get automatic qualifiers into the CFP.
Greg Sankey says he remains against 8 teams with AQs.

Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson then confirmed that there still remains a big difference on how to do those AQs.
MWC Commissioner Craig Thompson says there continues to be a difference of opinion on how to do AQs.

The next round of talks are scheduled for January so perhaps Warren and the rest of the commissioners will have an idea that everyone will like by then.
