Michigan is out and Mississippi is now in, apparently.
Okay, maybe that’s not actually the case when it comes to B1G football. But on Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany made a funny mistake when announcing the conference’s decision to resume a fall football schedule in 2020.
McEnany was reading off the list of B1G states that would resume the football season, set to begin the weekend of Oct. 23-24. While listing off the states, though, McEnany replaced Michigan with Mississippi.
Below is the clip that the White House posted on Twitter on Wednesday:

That won’t make a lot of Wolverine and Spartan fans happy.
Working in the White House, you’re going to have more important things to do than to remember the schools within a conference. But considering the state of Michigan has been a staple in the B1G for so long, it’s a funny blunder on such a big day for the league.
At the very least, it gave everyone from Michigan to Mississippi a good laugh.
