It was a huge week for three players in the B1G this week, and the conference is recognizing all of them with the weekly awards.
Monday afternoon, the B1G announced its winners of the B1G Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors. All three play in the post.
Purdue’s Trevion Williams and Minnesota’s Daniel Oturu shared B1G Player of the Week honors and Illinois’ Kofi Cockburn was the Freshman of the Week. All three players had monstrous performances throughout the past week on the hardwood.
Williams had a big day in a double-overtime loss to Michigan, scoring 36 points and grabbing 20 rebounds for the Boilermakers. On Sunday, he helped lead Purdue to a 71-42 upset win over No. 8 Michigan State, finishing the afternoon with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists, all of which were team highs.

Oturu also had a career day against Michigan, finishing with 30 points and 7 rebounds in a 75-67 victory over the Wolverines. He also scored 22 points and had 10 boards in a loss to Michigan State in East Lansing.

Cockburn helped lead Illinois to two wins this past week, defeating Wisconsin and Rutgers. He finished with 11 points and 17 rebounds in a 54-51 victory over the Scarlet Knights and also had 15 points and 6 boards in a 71-70 win over the Badgers.
